Matribal — the winter pop-up shop.
Matribal Wear
Recycled material turned into one-off garments, and jewellery made to be worn as work. Scola has an eye for the style people are not using yet: the shop is a place to experiment and leave with a new wardrobe, not with a few tips.
He works free of received technique and doctrine, in a language he built himself: watercolour and spray paint, canvas and linen, fabrics, compressed cardboard, and material picked up off the street. That appetite for experiment runs into clothing and jewellery too — restyled, hand-painted, one of a kind.
Nothing here is stocked twice. A garment is a one-off in the same sense a canvas is: it is painted, it is signed, and when it is gone it is gone. The shop is open in the cold half of the year only.
